The President and Founder of The One When Pharm services LLC, Dr. Jim Bonner, has over twenty years of API, Formulation, Packaging and Dust Containment experience with Merck & Co. and many Contract Manufacturing Organizations. After graduating from Georgia Tech with a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering, Jim earned a Masters in Chemical Engineering Practice from MIT. For thirteen years, Dr. Bonner held roles of increasing responsibility in Operations and Technical Operations at Merck’s API plant in Albany , Georgia. This time included a company funded doctoral leave to complete a PhD in Chemical Engineering at Georgia Tech (Separation of Pharmaceuticals Using Supercritical Fluids).
Dr. Bonner then directed the Technical Operations groups at Merck sites in Arecibo and Barceloneta, Puerto Rico. Most recently, he was the Director of External Manufacturing Technology, Formulation and Packaging. His team completed 14 technical transfers and also provided in-line support to 19 global CMO sites. Dr. Bonner is also well-versed in containment of potent compounds, having designed, installed, qualified and validated nearly 40 pieces of containment equipment at sites in the US and Puerto Rico.
